It is with deep regret that we have to inform you of the passing during the night of Lilla, a friend of the branch. Those of you who attended Spean Bridge for the parade in July will remember her as June’s mum. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time. It makes her enjoyment over that weekend particularly poignant. She did enjoy herself, WW.60

I met Shorty today in his City Centre Office. That is a busy, busy place as always. For those of you unfamiliar with the venue, if you imagine the rejects from The Jeremy Kyle Show all meeting up in Chalmun’s Cantina from Star Wars to audition for One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest you’re in the right area. He was in good spirits as usual and his next kit muster is on the 14th May. We will mark the occasion, appropriately, with a Curry Night on the 18th.

  4. Thank you. I usualy go up to Spean Bridge for Remembrance Sunday however this year have a fundraiser on at work as its the office 10 year anniversary the same weekend. Money raised is going to Help Our Wounded Royal Marines so feel its a justified miss this year. We look forward to joining you all at future events. L x

  5. Is the Spean Bridge event a family event or only for Bootnecks?
I think it is a fantastic idea and as parents of a Bootneck we are keen to get involved as much as we can , particlualry with fundraising.

Hi Linda, welcome to the site. There are several events that take place at the Spean Bridge memorial, not least the Remembrance Service on 11/11/12 this year. The monument is open to the public and all events have an open invitation to all. You would be especially welcome as belonging to the Royal Marine Family. I will pass your wishes on to the branch with regard to fundraising and let you know of the outcome. If you are referring to the website all and any are welcome, you know bootnecks, we’re very friendly people. WW
